Welcome to the world of Heather Blossom Brown.  I paint. I draw. I sketch. I woodburn. I am an artist based in upstate New York who's aim is to create unique emotional perspectives on the way I see the world. I work in oil, acrylic, watercolor, ink, charcoal, wood burning, and whatever else I can get my hands on. My favorite subjects are women and trees. What else is there?

The Artwork of

a homegrown artist

- 7/7/16 - I am currently working on new commission pieces.  I am making a pair of woodburnings done in the art deco style.

- 8/7/15 - Oh my goodness, I have a baby!

- 6/1/15 - I am happy to announce that I have a show coming up for First Friday in Albany.  I will be showing my woodburnings along with work from fellow artist, Jeremiah Hair.  Stop on by and say hello!

- 10/19/14 - Summer was grand and I spent the time developing other skills, but am now back and ready to create!

- 3/1/14 - Finished a commissioned burning on a very old and precious heirloom; a coconut. I love being able to expand my burned surfaces...

- 2/11-14 - I have been busy preparing new pieces for my upcoming show in April at the Wine Bar and Bistro on Lark Street in Albany, New York.  My vision is nothing but woodburnings. Though in reality, they tend to take far longer to create than paintings alone.  I suppose it's a race against time!

- 11/5/13 - "The Alfred E. Smith Building" was not only sold, but was awarded a Judge's Mention at the Built art auction! It's nice when hours of toil pay off...

- 10/24/13 - In one week, my newest woodburning, "The Alfred E. Smith Building," will be up for sale at the annual Historic Albany Foundation's "Built" show.  I tried to honor the unique architecture of that building in the most appropriate way.

- 9/10/13 - Will be participating in Inspired by...... Albany Architecture during First Friday on October 4, 2013 between 5 and 9pm at the First Presbyterian Church on the corner of State and Willet Street in Albany.  Contact David Hinchen for more information.

- 8/20/13 - I am very proud that my art piece, "Albany in 1866" was displayed on the Call for Art flier for Historic Albany Foundation's "Built" Show, which highlighted five pieces from last year's show.

- 7-10-13 - I finished another woodburning commission piece, titled "Live Oak Tree" for a wonderful couple for their anniversary.

- 5/21/13 - Check out the 386 Gallery in Albany, NY between June 7 and July 27 to see the Portraire show, an awesome array of portraits, including my "In Red," "Me," "You," "Edie," and "Andy" pieces.

- 4/20/13 - Finished a commission piece for a woodburning of the Christ Pantocrator icon.  I am extremely happy with how it turned out!

- 2/24/13 -I have an upcoming show at the Capital City Gastropub restaurant in Albany, NY for the month of November. I hope to fill it up with all woodburning pieces.
